ENTERING DATA IN STATUSLINK-STUDENTS
If you are a university student enrolled in a University
healthcare benefits plan that was or is currently
administered by Klais & Company, Inc., personal health
information (PHI) about you may be stored in StatusLink.
If your University has assigned a 9-digit STUDENT ID
NUMBER that appears on your health plan ID card, please
enter the STUDENT ID NUMBER when prompted in StatusLink
to enter your Social Security Number.
Much of the functionality of StatusLink is dependent on
how data is physically stored in the StatusLink
database. When you are entering data in StatusLink, you
should use the following guidelines:
StatusLink is CASE-SENSITIVE, so make sure that your
CAPS LOCK key is on;
Dates in StatusLink MUST be entered using a "mm/dd/yyyy"
format, where mm is the 2-digit month, dd is the 2-digit
day, and yyyy is the 4-digit year. For example, if you
need to enter a birthdate of March 8th of 1975 on the
Claim Inquiry form, the data should be entered as
03/08/1975.
StatusLink can be configured to support multiple sources
of data (such as "live" or production data versus test
data). Therefore, on some forms, StatusLink will prompt
you for a SITE ID. At this time, we have configured only
"live" production data to be available in StatusLink.
When you encounter a SITE ID field prompt, you should
enter prod1 (sounds like "prod one", in lowercase
letters) or use the drop-down arrow to select the value
prod1.

UNDERSTANDING INFORMATION DISPLAYED IN STATUSLINK
StatusLink is intended to provide the user with detailed
claims, eligibility, and plan information using current
web and database technologies. However, the general
design of StatusLink may display information in a manner
that appears different than information provided to you
on printed documents (such as an Explanation of
Benefits, a reimbursement check, or your Health Plan
Documents).
The information available in StatusLink is updated on a
daily basis during an "overnight update cycle". This
allows information changes (additions, modifications,
deletions) made during Klais' normal operating hours to
be updated into StatusLink. Accordingly, the data that
you see in StatusLink is typically current up to the
preceding business day's overnight update cycle.
FOR EXAMPLE: if you access StatusLink on a Thursday, the
data available is current as of the end of Klais' normal
operating hours of the day before (Wednesday). Likewise,
if you access StatusLink on a Monday, the data available
is current as of the end of Klais' normal operating
hours of the preceding Friday.
At this time, StatusLink contains detailed eligibility
and claim information for claims that were incurred on
or after January 1, 2002 (01/01/2002). If you have any
questions regarding information contained within
StatusLink, or about claims incurred prior to this date,
you should call Klais at the main phone number and ask
to speak with the appropriate department.
